Assam is best-known for the one-horned rhinoceros, found in large numbers
at Kaziranga National Park. Other important wildlife species found in the
wildlife sanctuaries of Assam are Tiger, Clouded Leopard, Gangetic Dolphins,
Golden Langur, Swamp Deer, Pygmy Hog, Hoolock Gibbon, White-Winged Woodduck
and Hispid Hare. Besides, during winter season a large number of resident
and migratory birds flock the state and make it their natural habitats.
The wildlife sanctuaries of Assam can be explored on jeeps, elephants or on
