about which you are not well aware, it is advisable to camp in a group
and better take guides with you.
- Do not forget to take a camera and binoculars as you never know what
you might see.
- Always carry a first aid kit with you as injuries can happen any
time.
- Carry enough drinking water in a clean container. Do not clean your
dirty cooking utensils at fresh water resources. It is better to use a
chlorine sanitizer before and after each use of cooking equipments.
- During the day time, you should carry at least one water bottle next
to your body as your body heat will keep it from freezing.
- You should carry away all the non-degradable items like empty
bottles, tins, polythene bags etc and throw them properly in dustbins
only.
- While you are getting inside your sleeping bag, strip off your extra
layers of clothing. After you get in the sleeping bag take a mouthful of
water and eat something fatty to keep your body warm.
- During night, your breathing pumps a great deal of humid air inside
the tent, this air rises and hits the inner wall where the moisture
condenses into ice. The ice particles can get all over your body and
your gears, it is best to sweep those ice particles outside the camp in
the morning.
- You should know the signs and treatment for Hypothermia. Take a
long, brisk walk or jog with your entire group, keep going until the
signs of hypothermia go away.
