reaching far in to the territory. There are many resorts located on the
small islands created by the backwaters here. The famous Vembanad Lake
traverses through the area and opens at the sea. The backwaters as such
provide means of navigation from the shores to the interiors of Kochi. Some
popular islands in the region include Bolgatty, Vypeen, Gundu and
Vallarpadam.
Backwater Experience
The backwater experience is filled with rich experience of the places and
attractions that lie here. The region homes several communities and the
travel through the region takes one in to the lives of some of the oldest
communities living in this part of the sub continent. One often comes across
a lot of fishing nets that lay basking in the sun. The backwater tours are
unique and exhilarating as the cruise moves from the open and vast sea into

all but natural.
