Description
Just 8 kms south of Kovalam, Somatheeram Ayurvedic Beach Resort is situated on the beautiful Malabar coast. Nestled in a heavenly atmosphere of coconut palm groves and beckoning blue sea waters, Somatheeram is untouched by the forays of tourism.

Spread over 15 acres of lush greens, the resort has traditionally styled bungalows and cottages, built in wood and sporting antique, carved doors and pillars. All bungalows and cottages in the resort, are a unique specimen of the noted architecture of Kerala. A unique combination of rich tradition, culture, awesome natural splendour, health, yoga and meditation, the Somatheeram Beach Resort is a perfect hideaway far from the hustle bustle of city life.

Accommodation
Somatheeram Beach Resort has 50 villas, that include wooden houses, stone bungalows and cottages. Equipped with modern amenities, all villas provide you a pleasing stay.

Sidhartha : Sidhartha, a palace like house, is equipped with an oversized octagon shaped living room, a tastefully decorated bedroom with king size bed, overlooking lush greenery. Ride the steps leading to the terrace and get a breathtaking view of an open courtyard with a palm tree and an open roof bath.

Illam (Deluxe & Ordinary ) : Illam are traditional Kerala wooden houses having the antique doors and furniture, with an exclusive green compound. Each Illam house has two bedrooms, one deluxe with a living room and the other is an ordinary room, rented separately.

Arappura (Deluxe & Ordinary) : Built like a traditional Kerala wooden houses, Arappura offers one deluxe and one ordinary accommodation, rented separately.

Jeeva & Jyothi : Situated on the slopes to the beach, Jeeva & Jyoti is a traditional Kerala house with two bedrooms, rented separately.

Nalukettu : Nalukettu, a traditional Kerala wooden house has four bedrooms (rented separately) surrounded by a tropical verandah. Beautifully decorated with antique doors and pillars, the house has an open courtyard overlooking the beautiful sea.

Cottages : Cottages are available in three options such as Special, Ordinary and Mini. These round thatched villas, built of bricks and natural mud, provide a magnificent sea view.

Somatheeram Beach Resort has an Ayurvedic treatment centre, which offers a number of rejuvenating therapies based on ancient science of Ayurveda.
