Rajasthan Safari

Rajasthan is bestowed with a unique and quite diverse topography encompassing many desert towns and cities, rocky hills, lakes and table lands. The Aravali ranges acts as a great divide and that runs across the state from south west to north east. The north west regions are typically sandy where as south east are more vegetative and fertile. Usually the Camel Safari and Desert Safari takes to the same destinations. There are places however, that lie beyond desert precincts and are covered in the Camel Safari.

Camel Safari
A cursory glance at Rajasthan's portfolio will at least reveal two things camel and the sand dunes. Such is their association that it is hard to make a mental picture of the popular state without any of these symbolic references. From time immemorial camel has been employed as means of transportation in the this region. Camel - the ship of the desert, is one means to reach any place within this state. Camel safari takes you to places mostly lying in the north west of Rajasthan. Some of these places are Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Khimsar, Osian, Badabagh, Salkha, etc.

Jeep Safari
Jeep Safari is an ideal choice when the area covered is comparatively large. The rugged terrains and rocky lands offer great opportunities to run the tyres of your jeep over. Jeep Safari is mostly available for the south east regions, particularly the forest lands. Ranthambhore and Sariska are the preferred places for Jeep Safari in Rajasthan.

Horse Safari
There are provisions for horse safari at many destinations in Rajasthan. Though there are few places to be covered on horse back, but the safari is altogether a different experience. Horses have long been employed in royal sports like Polo. The Maharajas maintained a good breed in their stables. The places most likely to be visited include Anokhi, Shikarbadi, Aodhi and Ghanerao.

Desert Safari
The north west of Rajasthan features many desert towns and cities. A journey across the desert makes an adventurous as well as an enlightening tour. The desert safari incorporates a total journey through these regions. In a desert safari one gets an opportunity to explore some of the remote and inaccessible parts of the state. The means of transportation may not be the same throughout the trip. Though camel is the most important means, but places accessible to jeeps and other vehicles may see these means as well.
