Introduction
Kite Festival is one sport that reaches the zenith on 14 January in many north Indian states and cities. The festival is celebrated with real vigour and interest at many places in the state of the Rajasthan. The festival is celebrated for three full days and that too at some of the famous palaces in the state. People of all ages - children, adults and aged take part in the kite flying competitions. The competition is one battle fought on earth and in the open sky above.

Places Celebrating the Festival
Kite festival is a traditional festival celebrated in many South Asian countries. India and China have long been preserving this traditional amusement in the form of kite events and festivals. The Kite Festival celebrated in the month of January, in north Indian states is intended for the same purpose. The festival has been actively supported by many communities and there is marked increase in the growing popularity of this festival. Activities
Kite Festival, as the name suggests is solely dedicated to kites - a rich display of colorful handmade kites and the skill of the person who flies the kite. The true spirit of this festival is highlighted at Jodhpur. Celebrated for three days, the festival is formally inaugurated. Choppers flying high above the ground release colorful kites and gas balloons are released from the ground. The scene is quite fascinating; the sky seems to be painted with different shades and hues of color. The next things to soar, up in the sky, are the kites fighting to hold on. The rules are simple - take down, of course kites, and as many as you can.

Where to Reach
Kite festival is celebrated in many northern cities of India. In the state of Rajasthan the festival is celebrated with pomp and show. To witness and participate in the festival one can reach either Jodhpur or Jaipur. The festival is much popular at these places.
