Brief History
Taragarh Fort was built in the year 1345 A.D. The fort which is now in
ruins is the site of the old kingdom. The fort was built to safeguard this
ancient town from the frequent invasions during medieval period. The fort
features clearly depict its purpose, as one can see its architecture and
position of location serves more of a millitary purpose.
Taragarh Fort - Overview
Taragarh Fort lies perched on the Nagpahari Hills, overlooking the town
below. Much of the fort premise have succumbed against some seven centuries.
The fort is a giant structure catches much of the interest of the visitor.
People interested in ancient architecture find it more interesting. The
peripheral fort walls consist several buildings and compounds inside. From
distance one can make out thick walls and a dome structure for the fort. The
fort also has a massive battlement, popular in the heydays of Rajputs.
