fact one small portion is still hold by the descendants. The grand structure

City Palace - Overview
City Palace is one of the prized attractions in the city of Jaipur. This
grand palace, built in the early 18th century, has seen a lot of additions
and modifications by the successors of Maharaja Jai Singh II. The palace is
established over a wide area and covers as much as one seventh of the total
walled city (old Jaipur). This imposing structure features a number of
courtyards, gardens and smaller compounds; all built in perfection,
revealing the royal taste and class.
What's So Special
This imposing structure, that covers a very large area in the Jaipur city,
is famous for too many things. As a grand palace it is hard to resist the
attraction at the first place. The palace, as it appears for the first time,
looks like a massive building with delicately designed sections and gives a
feeling of the ancient culture, medieval to be precise.
From a distance one comes to notice gateways, arches, panels, structured
walls and a number of regular storeys. A closer look inside the palace
complex reveals more interesting features. The palace complex is divided
into a number of compounds. Interesting ones include palace halls, like
Mubarak Mahal or Hall of Welcome, Sileh Khana, Chandra Mahal, Sabha Niwas or
Hall of Public Audience, Diwani Khas or Hall of Private Audience, Badal
Mahal. There are several courtyards within the palace complex and some lush
gardens.
As if it were not enough, each compound
presents a speciality of its own. There are carved pillar, motifs, mirror
works, floral decorations and of course some eternal treasures of the royal
family. These treasures have been preserved in a museum and are on regular
public display. The whole place looks like a mix of a Rajputana and a Mughal
building.
