proceed to Jodhupur, visiting Nimaj en-route. Mehrangarh Fort is the
principle landmark of Jodhpur, besides the city is home to a number of other
attractions. From Jodhpur board a domestic flight to Delhi for boarding a

Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
Meeting and assistance on arrival at airport and transfer to Hotel
Connaught. Delhi conists of two cities namely the Old Delhi and New Delhi.
Old Delhi, once the city of the Mughals is a conglomerate of medieval
palaces, forts, mosques and bazaars. While, New Delhi built by the British
is an elegant metropolis of broad avenues, stately homes and landscaped
gardens. At an additional cost stay at 5 star deluxe Imperial Hotel / Taj
Day 02 : Delhi - Katni
Following breakfast in the morning explore the major attractions of Old
Delhi and New Delhi such as Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Humayun's Tomb,
Qutab Minar etc. Later transfer to Nizamuddin Railway Station in time to
board overnight train to Katni.
Overnight : Sleeper class accommodation in train.
Day 03 : Katni - Bandhavgarh
Early morning arrive at Katni railway station. Meeting on arrival at
station and transfer to Bandhavgarh (2 hours). On arrival stay at
Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge. The cottages are equipped with all modern
amenities including attached bath, running hot and cold water showers. Later
visit Jungle in Jeep with naturalist. Also visit some interesting cave
shrines scattered around the park, with Brahmi inscriptions dating from the
1st century BC. Afternoon enjoy the elephant safari in the park and spot a
variety of wildanimals.
Overnight : At Jungle Lodge in Bandhavgarh.
Day 04 : Bandhavgarh - Umaria
Jungle excursions in morning and evening by Jeeps with naturalist. Later
transfer (45 minutes drive ) to Umarai Railway Station to board overnight
train to Agra (Kalinga Express Dep 1940 hrs and Arr 0930 hours next
Overnight : Sleeper class accommodation in train.
Day 05 : Arrive Agra
Arrive Agra railway station at 0930 hrs. Meeting and assistance on arrival
at railway station and transfer to hotel Trident Hilton. Afternoon visit the
massive Red Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb and later the beauty in white
marble, Taj Mahal at sun set. A mausoleum for Empress Mumtaz Mahal, Taj
Mahal is often described as a 'dream in marble'. At an additional cost stay
at Taj View / Amar Vilas.
Overnight : At Hotel in Agra.
Day 06 : Agra - Jaipur
Following breakfast in the morning drive to Jaipur (5 hours) via Fatehpur
Sikri. Akbar's famous ghost town, "city of victory", Fatehpur
Sikri was built as his capital in 1571 and deserted after 15 years when the
wells went dry. Next visit the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary - UNESCO world
heritage site and one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world, with over
360 species. Birdwatching is especially good here from October to February
when it is frequented by Northern Hemisphere migratory birds. Among many
other birds to be seen are egrets, ducks, coots, storks, kingfishers, spoon
bills, sarus crane and several birds of prey including laggar falcon,
greater spotted eagle, marsh harrier and palla's eagle. There are also
chital deer, sambhar, nilgai, fereal cattle wild cats, hyenas, and wild boar
whilst near Python Point, there are usually some very large rock pythons.
Reach Jaipur, the Pink City by late evening. On arrival stay at Loharu
House as Special Guests of the Nawab of Loharu Khan (Durru) Aimaduddin Ahmad
and Begum Fauzia Ahmad Khan
At an additional cost stay at Rambagh Palace - one of the most beautiful
palaces in India or Rajvilas -Town and Country. USA lists Rajvilas as "The

Day 07 : Sightseeing tour of Jaipur
In the morning visit Amber Fort. The highlight of the tour will be the
traditional ascent to the fort on elephant-back. The remaining tour include
visits to Kali Temple and Chamber of mirrors. In the afternoon visit City
Palace and its Museum, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and Jantar Mantar (A
Solar Observatory). Evening is free for personal activities, go for shopping
in colourful markets of Jaipur. Enjoy home dinner in the city with a
traditional Indian family.
Overnight : At Hotel in Jaipur.
Day 08 : Jaipur - Nimaj
After breakfast drive to Nimaj, the journey takes 5 hours.On arrival stay
at Chhatra Sagar Camp - which was built as a hunting lodge of the Nimaj
Estate. Surrounded by lush green fields of wheat, mustard, cotton and
chilies and vast grazing pastures, this hundred year old reservoir, with a
periphery of about 10 kilometers, is a perfect getaway from the chaotic city
life. Stay in the tastefully designed and well-appointed tented
accommodation. Each tent has an attached bath with hot and cold water, and
its own private sit out overlooking the lake
Afternoon take bullock cart safari to visit a traditional farm and local
farmers house and meet his family. Later visit a small village, which is
still living as it was 100 years ago. Also visit silver and gold smith
workshops and see how they make traditional tribal jewelry. In evening
orientation talk on Indian spices followed by a cooking demonstration.
Dinner would be a traditional meal by the camp fire.
Overnight : At Chhatra Sagar Camp in Nimaj.
Day 09 : Nimaj - Jodhpur
In the morning after breafast visit Bishnoi villages on Jeep and see a
local village school and interact with local people. The Bishnois people
follow 29 principles laid down by Guru Jambhoji, who made environmental and
wildlife protection a "religion" in the fifteenth century. Later
drive (1 hr ) to Jodhpur, situated on the eastern fringe of the Thar Desert
and serves as the gateway to the wonderland of sand dunes and shrubs, rocky
terrain and thorny trees. Jodhpur was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha, chief
of Rathore clans of Rajputs, who claimed descent from Rama, the epic hero of
Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort provides what must be the most authentic
surviving taste of the ceaseless round of war, honour and extravagance that
characterized Rajputana. The Fort is uninhabited, its paths trodden only by
visitors to the temple and the palace.
Stay at Ratan Vilas Palace - A family run heritage hotel
At additional cost stay at the magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace, built in
1930s in British style.
Day 10 : Jodhpur - Delhi
Morning sightseeing of Jodhpur, visit Meharangarh Fort and the Royal
Cenotaph. Afternoon explore the walled city market on foot. Later transfer
to airport in time to board flight to Delhi Alliance Air : CD 7472 at 1920
hrs / 2110 hrs. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to
international airport in time to board onward flight.

What an amazing trip this was. I fell in love with New Dehli at first sight
as it offers lots of things to see and do. Apart from sightseeing, shopping
at Janpath and Dilli haat was a thrilling experience and I bought few
handicraft items there.
